The Secret Circle | Reaching into the reader mailbag, Lindsay beckons, “Can you please do The Secret Circle on Inside Line?! Please?” OK, I’m in. During a recent chat with Phoebe Tonkin, we asked if Faye will remain resolved to unbinding the Circle — and from the sound of it, the Resident Bad Girl may not be rarin’ to go solo much longer. “Even though she likes to be in control, she doesn’t like the consequences of what happen happens when the circle is not bound,” says the actress. “And she’ll also starts realizing how much they could be in danger if they don’t all get together and do magic spells together.”

The Secret Circle Sneak Peek: What's Demon Melissa Up To?!

Uh oh, the coven's in deep trouble!

Demons are running amuck on The Secret Circle, and to say they're causing problems for the coven is a bit of an understatement. With the demon now sitting tight inside Melissa (Jessica Parker Kennedy), her boyfriend Nick (Louis Hunter) and the rest of the witches have some drama coming their way in "Slither." It's safe to say we can't wait to see what's about to go down in Chance Harbor.

Because we're so nice, we've actually got two exclusive clips from tomorrow night's sure-to-be intense episode













In the clip above, we get to see a new side of Melissa: the demon side, which apparently likes to boss Nick around. Girl demon power! While the demon appears to be after Melissa's Book of Shadows, we're thinking it also wants something else.
"The demon has an agenda," executive producer Andrew Miller says in a preview for the episode. "The demon wants to accomplish something that will put our kids in a ton of danger. She manipulates Nick, Cassie (Britt Robertson), and Faye (Phoebe Tonkin) and then ultimately Adam (Thomas Dekker) and Diana (Shelley Hennig) to make her plan happen."
In the second clip, Nick, Cassie and Faye come to the horrifying realization that the demon is controlling Melissa. Let's just say Nick takes matters into his own hands.
"By the end of the episode, they're in this situation where the circle can't continue in the form that it's currently in and to save themselves they have to make a devastating choice," Miller ominously teases. "It's terrifying."

What's coming up on The Secret Circle? — Harriet
NATALIE: Fans of the books may be excited — or angry, for Adam and Cassie 'shippers — because the first inkling of something deeper between Cassie and Nick may soon be coming. "It's very, very possible," Britt Robertson says very, very coyly. "Cassie and the Armstrong family will have some sort of relationship blossom." So that'll make it a love pentagon? That's more than The Vampire Diaries!

Hart of Dixie, Secret Circle Join Full-Season Club

The CW is on a full-season pickup tear today.

On the heels of Ringer‘s back-nine order, the network has greenlit full seasons of fellow rookie dramas Hart of Dixie and The Secret Circle.

In a statement, CW president Mark Pedowitz focused on quality over ratings (none of the shows have emerged as breakout hits for the network).

“We believe in the creative strength of these dramas, and by giving them back nine orders we can give our audience the chance to enjoy complete seasons of all three of them,” said Pedowitz. “With compelling storylines, engaging characters and tremendous buzz, we firmly believe that Hart of Dixie, Ringer and The Secret Circle can become signature series for The CW, the kind of top-notch shows that are synonymous with our brand.” (As opposed to, say, reality dud H8R, which was whacked after only a handful of airings.)

Executive Producer Andrew Miller Previews “Slither”

The Secret Circle Preview: Shelley Hennig and Thomas Dekker Reignite Diana and Adam's Spark

When you’re bound to four other people by a spell, it can be hard to find alone time with your boyfriend. So Diana takes it upon herself to recreate some magic (of the romantic variety) by planning a date night with Adam on The Secret Circle this Thursday (The CW, 9/8c).

Spicing up their romance, though, won’t necessarily be easy, considering the two have been together for three years — which in high school terms roughly translates to a very long time.

“I don’t think they’re tired of each other,” says Thomas Dekker during a Vancouver set visit arranged by Warner Bros TV. “But ultimately, the oxymoron of what’s great about their relationship and what’s bad about it is [how] comfortable they are together.” The two have an “unspoken language” and an ability to really be “at ease” with each other, but it comes with a downside. “It’s not necessarily exciting in that same way [that it used to be],” continues Dekker. “It’s sort of like a long marriage. Maybe in teen years, that’s what it is.”
For Shelley Hennig, it’s that “really strong and long history” that make Diana and Adam a couple to root for — despite Adam and Cassie’s pull toward each other. “Diana and Adam have a really special connection and a really great relationship, regardless of what’s happening with Cassie,” she says, comparing the couple’s romance to The Notebook and Sweet Home Alabama, movies where you find yourself wanting the heroine to reconnect with her first love. “I don’t know about you, but when I watch, I always want them to go back to their roots,” she explains.

Ausiello: Britt Robertson says the show’s Halloween episode will be chock full of tricks and treats. “When you have witches and Halloween, it can be fun to make fun of certain things,” she says. “What I love about what Kevin [Williamson] and Andrew [Miller] did is they weren’t trying to ignore the fact that we’re witches on Halloween. … We play with a lot of different, funny things. And one of our directors, Liz [Friedlander], who is a big part of our show, was saying, ‘The great thing about Halloween is that scary things can happen in the middle of the night and there’s people roaming the streets. You can scream [but] nobody really takes notice to it.’ So that’s kind of the fun element that we get to play with a lot.”

'The Secret Circle' recap: What's Your Damage, Heather?

Cassie and Faye learn the true reason behind Heather's unique condition. It involves snakes.

Oh dear. Things aren't looking good for sweet Melissa right now, are they? This week's installment of The Secret Circle dove right into the cliffhanger mystery we were left with at the end of last week -- what did Amelia do to Heather the night of the infamously fatal fire? Well, we were given our answer (sort of), but the members of the Circle are still as lost and confused as ever. More than anything, this week's episode dealt with the hellish emotional aftermath of the painful event that took out most of their parents. Yes, we also had a Cassie/Faye Hardy Boys style mystery, and a new demonic plot to boot. But when you get down to the nuts and bolts of it, these kids are nothing but a group of sad quasi-orphans trying to fill some sort of emotional void, be it with sex or magic or some good old-fashioned mystery-solvin'. As Faye put it, they're "a boat full of sad witches."

Now that The Secret Circle's coven has forged a semi-united front, the group's members will face new challenges as they struggle to understand their powers and whether to use them for good or evil, all while Cassie (Britt Robertson) tries to uncover the mysteries of their parents' coven.

In last week's episode, Cassie learned that her mother may not have been an innocent witch, as an old friend of her mother's revealed that Amelia Blake had done something far worse than kill their former best friend, Heather (Camille Sullivan). In locating Heather, the CW series will take a seriously dark turn that will include at least one death. (Watch the trailer.)

The Secret Circle Gets Scary

During a visit to the set, the cast discuss the darker turn the series is taking, beginning with this week's episode.

The Secret Circle only began airing in the past month, but during a visit to the set of the witchcraft-powered CW series this week, Thomas Dekker ("Adam") said he felt this this week's new episode, "Heather," was a pivotal one.

As Dekker explained, "Not only is it when I think the show really finds its footing and what it is, it also is the episode where we tip off into the dark side. I keep saying the show gets darker and darker and heavier and more frightening, and this is the episode where that really begins. And the ones that follow... Yeah, it's a dark show! We were joking today that we're probably going to be in trouble with quite a lot of parents."

While the core characters and their relationships are now established, the cast members myself and a group of fellow journalists spoke to -- travel and accommodations to the Vancouver set were paid for by Warner Bros -- stressed that little will stay stagnant. As Shelley Hennig ("Diana") put it, "I don't think any character ever stays the same. Things are going to happen. Diana is going to have to question where she stands in the Circle and in her relationships and I think every character does that at some point. You will definitely see more levels of Diana. She's not type A throughout the entire season. She's going to go through some things and it's a lot of fun playing her."

KSiteTV's Craig Byrne is just about finished with his visit to Vancouver, BC, where tonight was spent alongside other reporters on the shooting location for the eighth episode of the series -- a location that involves some fake lightning and an impressive downpouring of rain.We spoke with four of the show's leads -- Brittany Robertson, Shelley Hennig, Thomas Dekker, and Phoebe Tonkin -- and they gave us some clues about what's to come. They also previewed tonight's new episode, which airs at 9PM (ET) October 6 on The CW.

"A lot has been happening to the Circle," Hennig tells us about what is going on in the episode they are filming. "They've been in a lot of danger, so being [at this location] makes them feel like 'Okay. We're kind of away from where all the bad stuff has been happening. Diana's really pleased with this. We decide to spend the night, and Faye gets the alcohol out from the liquor cabinet, and it's just a bunch of us playing Truth or Dare in the living room, trying to enjoy ourselves and get our mind off of witchcraft and everything that's been going wrong," she says. Does this imply the Circle is more solid by the time we get to Episode 8? "They have their ups and downs. They're still learning to get along, which really stresses Diana out. But yeah. I'd say some relationships have gotten stronger and some have gotten weaker. It's just gotten more complicated, with triangles and squares," she says.

Secret Circle Stars Tease this Week's 'Dark and Scary' Episode: 'Faye Starts Going a Little Mad'

The Secret Circle may have bound their witchy group, but make no mistake, the power struggle continues in this Thursday’s episode (The CW, 9/8c).
When Cassie finds out that a friend of her mother’s has been in a catatonic state since the fire that killed half of the circle’s parents, she sets out to make things right — and in doing so gets a little more than she bargained for. Turns out Mom’s friend, Heather, is possessed, and that leads to a “really dark” and “scary” hour, according to the show’s star.
“It’s got a different feel than previous episodes,” Britt Robertson, who plays Cassie, previewed during a Vancouver set visit arranged by Warner Bros. TV. “It’s a mystery, and it shows you a different side of witchcraft than you’ve seen before.”

Gale Harold gets wicked in 'The Secret Circle'

 

Gale Harold is no stranger to playing bad boys. His sexy Brian Kinney in "Queer as Folk" was the resident love-'em-and-leave-'em heartbreaker for five seasons.

But Charles Meade, the wicked witch of Chance Harbor he plays in CW's "The Secret Circle," is on a totally different level.

“He may be up in the bad scale a bit,” Harold said Monday during a phone interview prior to the show’s third episode, “Loner,” airing at 8 p.m. Sept. 29.

An understatement, you think? Let’s see, in the series premiere Charles burned newbie witch Cassie’s (Britt Robertson) mom to a crisp as part of his plot to create a new coven of teen witches in his town. In last week’s episode, he covered up a murder committed by Dawn Chamberlain (Natasha Henstridge), his partner in supernatural scheming.
